Mr. CJ fosters an environment that allows his students the comfort and support to grow as students, performers, and most importantly, people. One of his mottos is to “improve each day by building off the previous”. This mindset promotes personal growth, and is something I continue to bring to my work no matter the circumstances. |

"Impacting lives one story at a time”- This mission statement was created my senior year under CJ’s mentorship, and I believe it accurately reflects the caliber of program he has built as well as his influence on students. To impact lives one story, class, and interaction at a time, CJ teaches his students how to achieve high standards through hard work while maintaining professionalism and empathy in our community. He creates a safe and uniquely fun environment that is a breeding ground for expertly cultivated art and growth in students, and is a teacher that allows students the freedom of expression and creativity in a safe yet boundless way. Mr. CJ is a teacher and mentor I will remember and hold as a dear friend for the rest of my life, and anyone who has the privilege of learning from him is likely equipped with the tools to embark on whatever path they choose. CJ has completely changed my life. The way I look at things, not only in theatre, but everywhere else is different. He has helped me discover what I want to do with the rest of my life and that's theatre. My education is more advanced than most and has benefited me beyond anything I had imagined. I feel confident going out into the world with the knowledge I have learned from him. I can honestly say I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for Mr.Cimino. - Ann Devine LHS '14 |
Mr. CJ is the definition of empowering. During my four years at Rock Ridge Mr. CJ not only taught me the importance of theatre, but showed me how to bring a story to life on stage. Mr. CJ shows his dedication and passion of teaching and directing within everything he does. Whether we are in the classroom or on the stage, Mr. CJ is giving 110% to his students and their success. |

Positive Professionalism is how Mr. CJ sets high standards for all of his students. This translates into our performance and technical work. However, I think that most importantly it reflects in how we present ourselves as individuals and as a company. I think it is important to learn how to represent yourself well. It is no secret that a negative attitude or offensive personality, regardless of your talents, will not be tolerated for the most part in any environment. Mr. CJ sets a high social standard for us, meaning he expects all of us to be kind and respect all of our peers. |
"To motivate you must inspire. From the first day I met Mr. Cimino-Johnson (more commonly known as Mr. CJ) he has kept one word in my head- inspiritu- to breathe life into. In every moment of our life, whether in class, on stage, or in everyday in life, I attempt to breathe life into it. I learned that from Mr. CJ. When watching him work with so much passion and dedication you can't help but want to find something that you love as much as much as he loves his students and theatre" |

Mr. CJ’s passion for his students, and theatre overall, is obvious when you have the privilege to work with him. During my high school years and beyond, he consistently pushed me to better myself as an artist and as a person. I am forever thankful for what he has done for me, as the lessons I’ve learned from him will continue to shape and guide me for the rest of my life. |
